Ceremonies made for you
About Me
Your ceremony should feel like you — not something off a script.
I’m Cydney, a Surrey-based celebrant creating bespoke wedding, funeral, and naming ceremonies that are personal, meaningful, and completely unique to you.
This isn’t about ticking boxes or following a formula. It’s about telling your story in a way that actually feels right — whether that’s relaxed and light, emotional and reflective, or somewhere in between.
I take the time to get to know you properly. The little details, the important moments, the things that make your story yours — because that’s what turns a ceremony into something people remember.
Before becoming a celebrant, I trained in both funeral and wedding ceremonies, giving me the experience and understanding to hold space for life’s biggest moments — from joyful beginnings to heartfelt goodbyes.
Whether you’re planning a wedding your way, celebrating a new arrival, or saying goodbye to someone you love, I’ll work with you to create something that feels genuine, thoughtful, and completely yours.
No templates. No copy-and-paste. Just a ceremony that actually means something.
Why a Celebrant?
Because your ceremony should feel like you — not something rushed, restricted, or read from a script.
Choosing a celebrant gives you the freedom to create a ceremony that’s entirely your own. You’re not limited by set wording, strict timelines, or a one-size-fits-all format. Instead, you get something personal, flexible, and genuinely meaningful.
You decide where it takes place, what’s included, and how it feels. Whether that’s relaxed and informal, emotional and storytelling-led, or a blend of both — it’s completely up to you.
While more traditional ceremonies often follow a fixed structure, a celebrant-led ceremony is designed around your story. That means including what matters, leaving out what doesn’t, and creating something that feels natural and comfortable from start to finish.
For weddings, that means a ceremony that reflects your relationship — not just the legalities.
For funerals, it means honouring a life with care, personality, and honesty.
For naming ceremonies, it’s about celebrating new beginnings in a way that feels special to you and your family.
I work closely with you to create something thoughtful, personal, and completely unique — because the moments that matter most deserve more than a standard approach.
FAQs
Weddings
Do we still need a legal ceremony?
Yes — in the UK, celebrant-led ceremonies aren’t legally binding. Most couples choose to complete the legal side separately at a registry office, then have their full personalised ceremony with me.
Can you help us write our vows?
Absolutely. I can guide you through writing your own vows, help shape what you want to say, or create something with you if you’re not sure where to start.
What if we don’t want to say vows?
That’s completely fine. Your ceremony doesn’t have to include anything that doesn’t feel right — we can create something meaningful in a way that suits you both.
How long does a ceremony usually last?
Most celebrant-led wedding ceremonies last between 20–40 minutes, depending on what you’d like to include.
Can we include family, children, or pets?
Yes — and it’s often what makes a ceremony even more special. We can include loved ones in a way that feels natural and meaningful.
Will we see the ceremony beforehand?
Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to review and make changes so everything feels exactly right.
What happens on the day?
I’ll be there to lead and deliver the ceremony, guiding you through each moment so everything runs smoothly and feels relaxed.
Funerals
How do you create a ceremony for someone you didn’t know?
I spend time with family and loved ones, listening to stories and gathering details to build a true picture of the person’s life. From there, I create something personal, respectful, and meaningful.
Can family members be involved?
Of course. If anyone would like to read, speak, or be part of the service, I’ll help guide and support them.
Can we include music or personal touches?
Yes — music, readings, memories, and personal elements can all be included to reflect the person being remembered.
What if we don’t want a traditional or religious service?
That’s absolutely fine. The ceremony can be as traditional or as informal as you’d like — it’s about what feels right for you and your family.
Will you help us structure the service?
Yes. I’ll guide you through the process and help shape the ceremony so it flows naturally and feels right.
How quickly can you prepare a funeral ceremony?
I understand the time-sensitive nature of funerals and will always work with you to create something meaningful within the time frame needed.
Naming
What is a naming ceremony?
A naming ceremony is a non-religious way to celebrate and welcome a child, often including promises from parents and chosen guardians.
Who can be involved?
Anyone you’d like — parents, guardians, siblings, family members, or close friends can all play a part.
Can we personalise the ceremony?
Absolutely. Every naming ceremony is written from scratch and can include promises, readings, or symbolic elements that feel right for your family.
Where can it take place?
Anywhere — at home, outdoors, or at a venue of your choice.
Is it suitable for older children too?
Yes — naming ceremonies aren’t just for babies. They can be adapted for children of any age.
What happens during the ceremony?
Each ceremony is unique, but it typically includes a welcome, the child’s story, promises, and any personal elements you’d like to include.
Pricing
Every ceremony I create is completely bespoke. No two people, families, or stories are the same, so each ceremony
